Fulbright scholar

Prestigious, nationally competitive awards for a year of overseas study, research, or teaching. All majors/disciplines are eligible and foreign language proficiency not necessarily required.

September 11, 2023

Eligibility:

  • Undergraduates who will be graduating in Fall 2023, Spring 2024, or Summer 2024
  • Graduate students who will not yet have received their PhD by Fall 2023
  • Recent alumni
  • All majors/disciplines
  • U.S. citizens
  • Must meet any country-specific requirements
  • Must apply by the Campus Endorsement Deadline

 

Description:
If you are an undergraduate who will be graduating in Fall 2023, Spring 2024, or Summer 2024, consider applying by the September 11, 2023 Fulbright Campus Endorsement Deadline. Graduate students who will not have received their PhD by this date are also eligible to apply, as are recent alumni. These awards provide funding to conduct research (in any field!), teach English, or enroll in a Master's program overseas for the 2023-24 academic year. Foreign language proficiency is not necessarily required.

Campus Deadline: September 11, 2023. Campus nomination required, late applications will not be considered. Applicants MUST participate in SBU's Fulbright Application Accelerator beginning in June 2023.

You will be notified about information sessions and events this Spring and will get the details about the Fulbright Application Accelerator, a mandatory virtual program which will begin in June 2023. These summer sessions will focus on the written portions of the application: the short answer questions, the Personal Statement, and the Statement of Grant Purpose.
