Biography

Chang Kee Jung, PhD is a Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. In the field of particle physics, he is one of the world's leading experts in the study of neutrino oscillations, which occur when a neutrino of one type can change into one of a different type, a phenomenon which could prove critical to understanding the role of antimatter in the origin of the cosmos. He is also an expert in proton decay, a hypothetical form of radioactive decay in which the proton decays into lighter subatomic particles. He has participated in the T2K Experiment, aimed at deepening the understanding of the physical universe through the study of neutrinos. He is also pursuing his research goals through participation in the Super-Kamiokande, K2K, and ELBNF experiments.
