Biography

Dr. Sotirios Mamalis’ research focuses on modeling of advanced combustion modes in engines – such as Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) – using conventional and alternative fuels, and development of physical models appropriate for powertrain simulation and analysis. Another of his interest areas is thermodynamic analysis of propulsion systems using exergy concepts, for identifying processes that promote efficient energy conversion.
