Biography

Nancy Franklin's research focuses on memory representation and, in particular, memory errors that arise from suggestive circumstances, other people, or one’s own biases and inferences. The role of emotions such as stress, anger, and suspense for producing systematic errors are one area of focus in her lab, and much of her work concerns cognitive biases and errors associated with eyewitness observation. She has been an expert for more than 400 court cases in New York and other states.
