Biography
An expert in teaching writing and English, in grades 6-12 and college, Ken Lindblom was named a 2012 Educator of Excellence, by the New York State English Council. The co-author of Making the Journey: Being and Becoming a Teacher of English Language Arts, (Fall 2016), he previously served as editor of English Journal (the oldest and most widely-read, peer-reviewed national journal devoted to teaching English in grades 6-12). He holds New York State Permanent Teacher Certification in English, grades 7-12 and is a member of the Executive Committee of the national Conference on English Education. A former member of the UUP Task Force on Teacher Education, Linblom is president of the Stony Brook Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa, the professional organization for K-12 educators. Ken has also developed the School of Professional Development’s digital badge program, which is quickly garnering interest from universities across the country, as they seek to implement this cutting-edge approach to micro-credentials and university/employer partnerships.
