Craig Evinger Professor Neurobiology and Behavior School of Medicine

Craig Evinger’s research is centered on determining how the nervous system creates movement and to identify nervous system modifications that cause movement disorders. He uses blinking as a simple model system for his investigations since blinks arise from relatively simple neural circuits. He is also currently working on a method called deep brain stimulation, which sends electrodes directly to the portion of the brain disrupted by Parkinson’s and electrically stimulates it.
