ABOUT Nicole:When she attended Stony Brook University she studied Civil Engineering. Since her graduation in 2016, she has been working at Turner Construction which she enjoys very much. In addition, Nicole is a co-founder of a steering committee for Sky Well which is a respected employee group for Asian-Americans at Turner Construction. HOW WISE HELPED nicole:Nicole enjoyed mentorship at WISE more than anything. To this day, her closest friends were her fellow WISE students who were all a part of the WISE mentorship group. TIP FOR CURRENT WISE STUDENTS:Do not doubt yourself. You might find that the professional work environment is harsher/less welcoming than the community you find at WISE. It is important to find the people and resources within your career field who are supportive, and nurturing of you and your hard work. It is an important part of staying passionate in your line of work and not getting disillusioned. |
