Allyse Knox-Russell is a PhD student in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at
Stony Brook University, with a graduate certificate in Art and Philosophy. Her research
interests include feminist and queer theory, feminist ecological and science studies,
environmental justice and health, and gender and race in education. Her dissertation,
"Cultivating Futurities," will be an ethnographic study of women educators and land-based
pedagogies in practice in New York and Minnesota, and she has a forthcoming chapter
on the film
