2016 Key Dates

Tuesday, September 13, 2016 - State & Local Offices Primary (New York)

If you have either never registered to vote before or recently moved to a new district, in order to vote in the State & Local Offices Primary (New York):

  • Register to Vote BY MAIL - Postmarked no later than August 19, 2016 and received no later than August 24, 2016
  • Register to Vote IN PERSON - Received no later than August 19, 2016
  • Change of Address - Received no later than August 24, 2016

If you have registered to vote in New York and want to vote via ABSENTEE BALLOT, in order to vote in the State & Local Offices Primary (New York):

  • Request Absentee Ballot BY MAIL - Postmarked application no later than September 6, 2016
  • Request Absentee Ballot IN PERSON - Received application no later than September 12, 2016
  • Submit Absentee Ballot BY MAIL - Postmarked no later than September 12, 2016 and received no later than September 17, 2016
  • Submit Absentee Ballot IN PERSON - Received no later than September 13, 2016 (submitted by someone other than the voter)
