Reminders:

  • All new International students must complete the Immigration Intake form in accessVIS prior to Intake check in with Visa and Immigration Services
  • Bring your passport, visa, I-94 (if applicable), and all current and previous I-20s/DS 2019s
  • Those arriving to the U.S. before 1/21/2020  should report to the Visa and Immigration Services office (E5310, Melville Library) for check-in.

Orientation

All students are invited to the following events:

Resource Fair 11am - 1pm SAC Lobby 

Undergraduate Students

Part I:  Tuesday, January 21, 22, 23 and 24, 2020. 
During Orientation Part 1, you will be required to attend a presentation given by Visa and Immigration Services and complete your Immigration Intake.  To complete your intake, fill out the  Immigration Intake form on  accessVIS. You will be assigned a time to complete your check-in with VIS. 

Part 2:  Saturday, January 25 - Sunday, January 26
Orientation Part 2 focuses on acclimating students to the Stony Brook University climate, culture and community. Attendance is mandatory.

Graduate Students

All new International Graduate Students must complete an online orientation.  The orientation is available in accessVIS and includes a brief video outlining your responsibilities as an F-1 student.  After viewing

the orientation, you must submit the  F-1 Immigration Orientation form.  The orientation can be completed prior to your arrival in the U.S.
