VISITOR PARKING PERMITS

What to Know

VISITORS TO STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY: While visitors to Stony Brook University do not require a permit to park on campus, any vehicle on University grounds acknowledges the responsibility to operate and park a vehicle on campus in accordance with Stony Brook University's Parking Rules and Regulations. Note: retirees and emeriti should utilize visitor parking rules. If you have emeritus status and would like to purchase a permit, please contact Parking Services

WHERE TO PARK: There are a variety of paid parking areas for University visitors to use while parking at Stony Brook University. Visit our Where to Park page to learn more about metered parking spaces and University garage parking, where visitors are allowed to park. 

RESTRICTED PARKING: Please note that the following lots/parking spaces are restricted and not available for visitor parking. This is enforced at all times.
- Any lot marked as 24-Hour Parking (check the signage posted at the lot)
- State Only parking spaces
- Special Service parking spaces
- ADA Accessible parking spaces (without the proper NYS permit)
