Circle Road Repair and Repaving Project - June 17, 2019 to July 28, 2019

Please be advised, depending on favorable weather and budget availability, a portion of Circle Road will be under constrution, beginning on Monday, June 17, 2019 and ending on Sunday, July 28, 2019. The section of Circle Road to be rehabilitated will run from the south end of North P Lot to the intersection of Engineering Drive. The project is being performed in three phases, which are detailed below:

Phase 1A

Dates - 6/17/19 - 7/1/19

Road Section - Circle Road from the south end of North P Lot to intersection of Gym Road

Scope - Demolition of curbs and curb ramps and installation of new concrete curbs and curb ramps

Interruptions - Vehicular traffic will be directed around affected roadway by roadway flag personnel

Phase 1A

Phase 1B   

Dates - 7/1/19 -7/5/19

Road Section - Circle Road from the south end of North P Lot to intersection of Gym Road

Scope - Installation of new asphalt roadway and re-striping of the road

Interruptions - Vehicular traffic will be re-routed around affected roadway by using the LIRR parking lot as a temporary detour roadway

Phase 1B 

Phase 2A

Dates - 7/1/19 -7/12/19

Road Section - Circle Road from the intersection of Gym Road to the intersection of Campus Drive

Scope - Demolition of curbs and curb ramps and installation of new concrete curbs and curb ramps

Interruptions - Vehicular traffic will be directed around affected roadway by roadway flag personnel

Phase 2A

Phase 2B  

Dates - 7/15/19 -7/19/19

Road Section - Circle Road from the intersection of Gym Road to the intersection of Campus Drive

Scope - Installation of new asphalt roadway and re-striping of the road

Interruptions - Vehicular traffic will be re-routed around affected roadway by using Gym Road, Toll Drive, and Campus Drive as a temporary detour

Phase 2B

Phase 3A

Dates - 7/15/19 -7/26/19

Road Section - Circle Road from the intersection of Campus Drive to the intersection of Engineering Drive

Scope - Demolition of curbs and curb ramps and installation of new concrete curbs and curb ramps

Interruptions - Vehicular traffic will be directed around affected roadway by roadway flag personnel

Phase 3A

Phase 3B   

Dates - 7/28/19 - 7/29/19

Road Section - Circle Road from the intersection of Campus Drive to the intersection of Engineering Drive

Scope - Installation of new asphalt roadway and re-striping of the road

Interruptions - Vehicular traffic will be re-routed around affected roadway by using other campus roads as a temporary detour

Phase 3B

New Fueling System and Procedure

The Department of Transportation and Parking is pleased to introduce our new fueling system at the South P Lot.  The system will begin operation on Monday morning, January 29 th, 2018.  Please become familiar with the operation by viewing the instructions provided below.

New Fueling System

The new system will no longer use the currently issued fuel keys.  In addition, the process of dispensing fuel will require a valid SBU ID card -  No fuel will be dispensed without swiping a valid SBU ID card .

Over the past several weeks, the Automotive Department has worked diligently to install new equipment in our vehicles, which is required to work with this system.  If you have a vehicle that has not been retrofitted with this new equipment, you  will need  to visit the automotive garage prior to fueling in order to have this new equipment installed.

Faculty/Staff Renewal Notice

Permits ordered online can be picked up at Parking Services (2-3 days) or mailed home (1 week). If you choose to have the permit mailed home, please confirm the address in the parking system is accurate. Once your permit has been renewed your old permit will be expired after 10 business days. Please be sure to destroy the old permit or return it to Parking Services.

Please note that all outstanding parking fines must be paid in full before a renewal can be processed.

PARKING METERS

Parking meters now exclusively accept credit or debit cards at all pay lot stations.
