Peer Support Interns

It can often feel intimidating to approach staff members to ask for help or voice your concerns. The Peer Support Team is a student-led division of the Student Support Team made up of students here to provide you with a space to vent, chat, or connect you to campus resources. Let's grab a coffee and chat!

Hi my name is Siya Gandhi! I am currently a sophomore in the University Scholars Honors Program, with  the Pre-PA track. I am pursuing a degree in Psychology. In addition to being a Peer Support Intern, I am also a member of the competitive coed bollywood fusion dance team, SBU Junoon, and the University Scholars Social committee. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, working out, and traveling. I am very excited about my new internship with the peer support team and look forward to making a positive impact on the Stony Brook community. Hello- my name is Marie! I’m a sophomore in the Honors College and I am on the social welfare track. In addition to being a Peer Support Intern, I’m also a member of the SBU Kendo/Kumdo Club, the Vice President of the Stony Brook Game Developers, and a research assistant at the Self-Regulation and Cognition lab. I am also an introvert and enjoy playing video games and TTRPGs, writing, and drawing in my free time. I’m grateful to have this opportunity to give back to Stony Brook’s student community. Me, Siya, and the Student Support Team are here to support you no matter what you’re going through.
