Stony Brook University celebrated the opening of the Campus Recreation Center, a state-of-the-art
85,000 square-foot facility, on October 19, 2012. Located between the Stony Brook
Student Union and the Indoor Sports Complex, the new facility is devoted to the health
and wellness of Stony Brook students, faculty and staff. It has become the center
of activity on campus, averaging more than 2,000 users daily.
The Office of Commuter Student Services contributes directly and indirectly to the
enhancement of the educational experience of all undergraduate commuter students at
Stony Brook University.
Stony Brook University has close to 374 recognized student clubs and organizations. Being
involved in co-curricular activities create learning opportunities for students to
increase their leadership skills and abilities, further enhance their personal and
scholastic development, along with defining and shaping their career goals.
The Office of Student Activities strives to develop the whole person by providing
resources, and support to enhance our students’ co-curricular and experiential opportunities.
