Programming and Development

New Member Education

All new members to the fraternity and sorority community participate in this during their first semester of membership. These programs educate new members about the values of the fraternal movement, expectations of membership, and opportunities for their own personal development.


F&S Leadership Training

Each semester Fraternity & Sorority leaders attend a leadership conference to build community and individual leadership skills focusing on the needs student organizations and the fraternal community.


Inter-Fraternity & Sorority Council

The purpose of IFSC is to unite all fraternities and sororities and provide governance for the fraternity and sorority community. The Inter-Fraternity & Sorority Council supports the following signature programs each academic year:

  • National Hazing Prevention Week 
  • Fraternity & Sorority Meet & Greet
  • Community-wide Service Projects
  • IFSC Week


Order of Omega

The Order of Omega is an honor society for the fraternity and sorority community that recognizes members that excel in scholarship and leadership. The Chi Kappa Chapter of Order of Omega was established at Stony Brook University on November 16, 2010.
