The Department of Student Engagement & Activities is committed to elevating the student experience by fostering developmental, dynamic, and inclusive co-curricular experiences through engaging events, memorable traditions, and a community of recognized student organizations. We empower students to DISCOVER their potential, find opportunities to ENGAGE in campus life, and develop skills to transform, thrive, and LEAD at the University and beyond.

We provide oversight and support to our 350+ student organizations and their student leaders through advisement, training, and support services. In collaboration with the other areas of Student Affairs and beyond, we facilitate interactions among students, faculty, and staff that focus on student growth and development, students as partners in the creation and implementation of co-curricular activities, and participation in student organizations and their events. We strive to provide quality advising to student organizations, and empower faculty & staff advisors by providing resources and support.

We host weekly programs that appeal to various interests to foster inclusive, engaged communities where every student has the opportunity to create memorable experiences & connections. Our events are all free or low cost for students and can be found on SBEngaged or CORQ! We do a large variety of events, including off campus trips, movie nights, murder mystery dinners, hypnotist and comedy shows, the annual Homecoming Seawolves Showcase, paint nights, craft events, food expos, and much more! Much of our programming efforts are supported and funded by the Undergraduate Student Activity fee.

There are countless ways to get involved on campus, and the benefits are endless. Getting involved can help you make friends & find community; expand your interests while having fun; create a network while honing skills valued by future employers; & enhance your success at SBU. Not sure where to start? We have a number of resources to help our Seawolves.
