Campus Residences and Residential Education have an extensive professional development program geared towards the development of all staff levels. This program includes various required and supplemental trainings & seminars; presentation opportunities; committee experiences; and potential conference attendance. The Department encourages it's staff to submit requests for their professional development in these various capacities. To assist in the selection and progression of each individual team members' development, we have developed a professional staff curriculum to guide them during their tenure within the department.
Staff members also have the opportunity to apply for tuition remission for classes within the State University of New York (SUNY) System. Many staff members have taken courses within the Higher Education Administration program to further their professional knowledge or work towards a certificate.
Many of our staff members serve as advisors for individual building councils. Many have taken on additional advising volunteering opportunities including: Alternative Spring Break Outreach (ASBO), Circle K, various Greek organizations, RHA, NRHH, The Happiness club, and many more.
