Your New Home
Opening Weekend is a multi-day program where students are introduced to life at Stony Brook University. Much of this year's Opening Weekend Activities will be presented virtually due to Covid-19 restrictions on large group gatherings. Please take advantage of all that is available - even in a virtual setting and it will help acclimate you to the campus and start the process of meeting other members of the University Community.
Students will be encouraged to complete a Roommate Agreement with their roommates and/or suitemates within two weeks of moving in. A sample agreement will be provided on this page soon, but each agreement will be individualized with the help of an RA. Please check out this video on community living at our residence halls!

Laundry services are included in the cost of Stony Brook housing. Each building has a laundry room with washers and dryers. Students can use LaundryView to view the current status of the washing and dryer machines. For any problems with washers and dryers, please contact your RA or residential staff member to report the problem.
Students are expected to wipe down all washers and dryers prior to and after each use to maintain a safe and hygenic environment for all. Residents should remove their laundry from machines as soon as the washer and dryer cycles end. Other students should not remove laundry from machines that is not their own personal property.
WolfieNet is the wireless network used on campus. It is recommended that students use the WolfieNet-Secure network on a day-to-day basis. Please see DoIT for any questions or concerns.
