Become a Commuter Assistant

We are excited that you're interested in becoming a part of our team! The Commuter Assistant Application will be open February 3rd- March 5th 2021. Application eligibility is as follows:

Must have completed one full semester at Stony Brook or another institution of higher education (ie. first semester transfer students are eligible.)
Must have minimum of a 2.7 cumulative GPA
Must commit to the program for a full academic year (2020-2021) 
Must be enthusiastic about helping other students and developing your own leadership qualities through training and hands-on experience

To apply, please complete the following steps:

Step 1.

Attend a brief information session. All students are required to attend ONE  of our virtual infromation sessions.   For access to our zoom links, please visit our SB Engaged Page

Step 2.

Submit Application  via   online application. NOTE: The application will call for you to submit a copy of your latest resume. 

Step 3.

Submit a ReferenceYou may share the online reference form with your refere nce of choice, or provide a printed version, which they or you can deliver to Union Suite 205.  


Your application will not be considered until all parts of the application have been received
by the Office of Commuter Student Services & Off-Campus Living. ALL COMPONENTS OF THE APPLICATION ARE DUE BY MARCH 5TH at 5:00pm.
