Ed Sherbert, DBA

Ed Sherbert has been teaching at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels for over 20 years onsite and online (full-time and part-time).  He holds a DBA in Human Resources Management, an MBA and a degree in Industrial Engineering. He also has the SPHR and SHRM-SCP HR certifications. He has been an HR exam test question writer, a subject matter expert and faculty member for SHRM for over 10 years.

Ed began his HR consulting business (sherbertassociates.com) and teaching full-time in 2000. Previously he lived and worked in New York City in the US for three years where he co-founded an e-commerce company.  Prior to that adventure he spent 25 years moving around the US and traveling internationally with several US fortune 500 companies and small businesses in the human resources field (union & non-union) achieving the position of Executive VP HR.  He also served in the US Navy with a deployment to South Vietnam in 1971-1972 and started several martial arts schools (Tae Kwon Do) in the 1990’s. 

During his full-time teaching career Ed has been an undergraduate business professor, graduate business professor, Chair of several undergraduate business programs and Dean of an MBA program.

His dissertation was titled “The Impact of Work Redesign on Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment, Employee Absenteeism and Turnover:  A Longitudinal Study.”
