Whether working in student affairs, academic affairs or college/university operations, the Higher Education Administration (HEA) program provides current and emerging professionals with the expertise they need to become leaders in the field.
Our diverse HEA curriculum aligns with ACPA and NASPA professional competencies. Each course combines theory and practice, so students can immediately start applying the concepts they are learning to enhance their performance in their job or internship.
Earn Your Degree in 16 Months
We schedule courses in five terms per year, so whether you plan to pursue your degree full-time, part-time or one-class-at-a-time, you'll find it easy to get the classes you need when you want them. With proper planning, full-time students can earn their master's degree in as few as 16 months; part-time students can finish in about two years. View Sample Schedules
Flexible Scheduling: Online, On-campus – or Both*
Stony Brook University has been a leader in online learning for over 20 years. Our HEA program is taught by experienced faculty who are skilled in online instruction – including synchronous, asynchronous and hybrid formats. Students can choose to complete the program 100% online, or combine online and on-campus learning experiences.
