Orientation Webinars
All new students are required to participate in a series of three interactive webinars designed to:
- provide a full understanding of the program's goals and expectations;
- instruct students on conducting research; and
- guide them in the development of citation skills.
Students should reserve the following dates on their calendars.
1. Orientation Webinar (Required)
Admitted students must register for and attend one of the following webinar sessions presented by Andy Fong, Admissions Counselor. Register below for you preferred date:
The webinars are conducted through Zoom. Participants will receive an e-mail 1-2 business days prior to the scheduled Orientation session with an access link.
2. Research Skills for HEA Students (Required)
This webinar is presented by the instructional librarians at their SB Connect meeting site. Access instructions will be emailed to all of those who register in advance.

3. Citation Skills for HEA Students (Required)
This webinar is presented by the instructional librarians at their SB Connect meeting
site. Access instructions will be emailed to all of those who register in advance.

4. Online Learning Orientation (Optional)
If you are taking an SPD online course for the first time, we recommend that you attend one of the following online learning webinars.
Topics will include:
How online learning is different from classroom learning
How to navigate Blackboard
How to participate in class discussions
How to submit assignments
How to communicate with your instructor
