New Cohort Program Integrates a DEI Focus
Stony Brook University’s Advanced Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership (EDL) program provides the practical skills and theory-based knowledge that teachers need to become effective leaders at the building and district levels. In partnership with Suffolk County School Superintendents Association, Long Island Black Educators Association (LIBEA), SCOPE Education Services, Asian Pacific Council of Educators, Nassau County New York Alliance of Black School Educators, and the Long Island Latino Teachers Association (LILTA), the University is launching a new cohort program that infuses the EDL curriculum with a diversity, equity and inclusion focus. The goal of the program will be to build leadership capacity in school districts across Long Island with diverse student populations.
