Educating All Students (EAS) Exam Preparation
The EAS workshop will offer students a comprehensive look at the separate portions of the Educating All Students test. The lecturer will provide the most up-to-date information about the content and language of the exam. Students will discuss scaffolding techniques to meet the demands of diverse classrooms, study educational laws that affect students and teachers, examine best practices for teaching English Language Learners and students with specific disabilities, and review how teachers can develop and maintain positive home-school relationships.
Using the practice materials provided by New York State, students will dissect and complete sample multiple choice questions, learning to identify and avoid the "easy trap" answers.
Students will also analyze model essay responses provided by the state and receive a step-by-step outline for organizing their own written responses on the exam. They will be provided with a study packet so that they may continue to prepare for their exam after leaving the workshop.
