Occupational Therapy Program
Stony Brook University and the School of Health Technology and Management are proud to announce the expansion of the Occupational Therapy Program to a second location on the Stony Brook University campus at Southampton, NY.
Beginning in June of 2014, a cohort of 30 students was admitted to Stony Brook's Occupational Therapy Program at the Southampton campus and the number of students at the Health Science Center in Stony Brook was reduced from 35 students to 30. In total, the OT Program is enrolling 60 students across the two campuses, a net increase of 25 students per year.
Led by Chairperson Dr. Eva Rodriguez and Program Coordinator Sean Getty, and supported by current and new faculty, the same high quality of education that has been delivered by Stony Brook's Occupational Therapy Program over the past 19 years is being extended to the Southampton campus. Increased resources in the form of additional faculty, space, equipment, services and finances have been allotted to sustain excellence in the program at both campuses. We invite all of the Stony Brook University family to join in our excitement and pride as we commit to the continued excellence that is the hallmark of Stony Brook Occupational Therapy.
Graduates of this program will receive a Master’s of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. Consistent with the School of Health Technology and Management Mission Statement, we in the Occupational Therapy program provide the highest quality education that fosters inter-disciplinary research, critical thinking, evidence-based practice and leadership.
