Enrollment Verification PDF

An enrollment verification is an official document which provides enrollment status. It does NOT include individual course or grade information and does not provide GPA.  An enrollment verification document can be used whenever enrollment verification of student status is required for scholarship purposes, medical coverage, loan deferments, jury duty, car insurance, etc.

An Enrollment Verification shows the following information:

1. Student Name
2. Semester(s) Enrolled
3. Start and End Dates of Each Semester
4. Status: Less than 1/2; Half-Time; Full-Time;
5. Expected graduation term

How Do I obtain an Enrollment Verificaton?
Enrollment verifications are available online via a PDF on your SOLAR System Account. You will be able to generate, save  and print an enrollment verification directly from your computer. This is equivalent to an official Stony Brook enrollment verification. Stony Brook University will certify current or past enrollment. The university cannot verify enrollment for future semesters.

To obtain an Enrollment Verification:
Login to the SOLAR System
Select the "Student Records & Registration" menu group and choose Enrollment.
Click the "Enrollment Verification PDF " link under the Enrollment menu.
Make sure you add a new row by clicking on the "+" button.
Click "Print PDF" button -- allow time for the PDF to be produced.

National Student Clearinghouse Information and Reporting

Stony Brook sends student enrollment information to the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) frequently during each term. It may take up to five business days for the NSC to process the latest enrollment information.

Good Standing, GPA, and Rank in Class
All students validly registered at Stony Brook are considered to be in good standing for the purposes of enrollment verification. Stony Brook does not report grade point average and rank in class.

Enrollment Verification for Student Loan Lenders
The National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) is a national agency that acts on Stony Brook's behalf to certify enrollment to most national lenders for student loan deferments. Our agreement with the NSC enables your lender to retrieve your enrollment information from the NSC directly, and should eliminate the need for you to submit an enrollment verification form each quarter. You can learn more about the National Student Clearinghouse at: www.studentclearinghouse.org.

Enrollment Verification for Employers
Stony Brook University has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) to act as its agent for purposes of enrollment verification. The NSC will be able to verify enrollment for only those students who have not placed a privacy block on their academic record. The student’s name when enrolled, Social Security Number, and date of birth will be required for identification purposes and enrollment verification. Please contact the National Student Clearinghouse by phone at (703) 742-4200 or visit their web site at www.studentclearinghouse.org for current enrollment verification information and instructions.
