Undergraduate College/University: Stony Brook University
Major (Minor): Psychology and Biology
Graduation Year: 2018
Hello everyone! My name is Victoria and I am from Long Island.
I received a B.S. in Biology and a B.S. in Psychology from Stony Brook University. As an undergraduate, I volunteered as a Research Assistant for Dr. Gonzalez at the Mind-Body Clinical Research Center. The research project that I was involved with was the NASA study. The goal of the study was to determine the most effective way to provide therapeutic support to astronauts on long-duration space flights, while taking into account the lag time associated with extended travel distance. Working on this study further contributed to my interest in intervention effectiveness research.
This semester, I am serving as a Research Assistant in Dr. O'Leary's Relationships and Forensic Assessment Clinic lab. I am working on two different projects with graduate students, Nicole and TJ. The first project investigates predictors of rape acknowledgment and the second project evaluates how sexual minority couples cope with experiences of discrimination.
When I'm not doing research, I enjoy running, spending time with friends and reading a good book.
