campusThe Academic Success Team

Based on the Access to Success work of The Education Trust, the Academic Success Team was brought together in June 2012. The Team, consisting of approximately twenty professional staff, has been meeting weekly to identify systemic issues that negatively impact student academic success and work to address them and improve student outcomes. Some of the issues that have been considered include:

  • Student retention
  • Student persistence
  • The number of students on academic warning
  • Four-year graduation rates
  • Six-year graduation rates
  • Time to major declaration
  • Degree progress

The Team identifies strategies to address these and other issues and utilizes a PDSA Quality Improvement Model to move the process along. We have reached out to targeted groups of faculty and staff based upon the issues that are considered.

The Team will continue to address student success issues with the goal of improving student outcomes one at a time and overall for the University.
