Entanglement Management and Control in Transparent Optical Quantum Networks

This is a canvass to determine whether an internal competition will be necessary for this limited submission program. If you are interested in applying to this program, you must notify OPD by submitting theinternal competitions form. Pre-applications are not yet required.

DOE has released an FOA for Entanglement Management and Control in Transparent Optical Quantum Networks to advance understanding of how entanglement operates in quantum networks. Stony Brook University may submit TWO applications as the lead institution.

Please see below for details. If you are interested in applying to this program, you must submit the internal competitions form by Monday, March 22, 2021. The competition code for this program is LC202138.

WHAT DOES IT FUND: Applicants should focus on entanglement traffic engineering for multi-hop quantum networks with no repeaters or routers, specifically hybrid (DV/CV) Quantum Local Area Networks (Q-LANs). Priority will be given to applications that emphasize both theoretical and potential uses of their research results in a quantum network testbed.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS: No restrictions.

AWARD: Up to $400,000 per year for 3 years.

SPONSOR DEADLINE: Letter of Intent due April 5, 2021. Application due May 17, 2021.
