Join Us for CommUniversity Day on September 21
To All Faculty, Staff and Students,
Please join us on Saturday, September 21, for our third annual CommUniversity Day,
a festival showcasing the best of Stony Brook University.
CommUniversity Day was created out of our deep commitment to fostering an inclusive
environment for our students, employees, families, and neighbors. CommUniversity Day
is an opportunity for our extended community to connect with each other and to learn
about the many departments and programs at Stony Brook.
The day will offer a variety of family-friendly activities, entertainment, and dining
options. Build a foam rocket or draw with 3D pens in the Discovery Zone. Test your
balance and heart health in the Health and Safety neighborhood. Immerse yourself in
different cultures and engage with campus groups in Traditions. Enjoy tastings from
Culinart, as well as a host of offerings from the Farmers Market and food trucks.
Join us for Kazoo-niversity at 2 p.m. with free kazoos, courtesy of the Staller Center.
Hear from student researchers at the 'Find Out in 15' tent. Meet members of the men’s
and women’s lacrosse teams, try tai chi on the lawn, or take pictures in our photo
booths. The event culminates with the rubber duck race, free ice cream, and a performance
from The Spirit of Stony Brook Marching Band.
Admission and parking are free. CommUniversity Day runs from noon to 4 p.m., rain
or shine, on the Academic Mall.
