1. NIGMS Postdoctoral Research Associate Training (PRAT)

The NIGMS PRAT Program is a competitive three-year postdoctoral fellowship program that provides high quality research training in the basic biomedical sciences in NIH intramural research laboratories, and prepares trainees for leadership positions in biomedical careers. The program places special emphasis on training fellows in all scientific areas supported by NIGMS, including but not limited to, biological chemistry, biophysics, bioinformatics, cellular and molecular biology, computational biosciences, developmental biology, genetics, immunology, neuroscience, pharmacology, physiology, and technology development. Appointments are made at competitive stipend levels, commensurate with experience and recognition of selection for this program, and fellows receive a travel and training allowance.

The PRAT Program is especially interested in ensuring the applicant pool reflects the diversity of the biomedical Ph.D. talent pool.

2. Associate Program Officer, Natl Academies Board on Health Sciences Policy

The Forum on Drug Discovery, Development, and Translation at the National Academies is seeking an Associate Program Officer to join their team. This position is best suited for early career candidates with an interest in medical product R&D policy. Excellent (written and verbal) communication skills required. 3. Moffitt Cancer Center Innovation Fellowship, Deadline: July 1

The Office of Innovation and Industry Alliances at Moffitt Cancer Center is now accepting applications for a unique Postdoctoral Fellowship in Innovation. This two-year program is designed to train STEM PhD graduates with minimal knowledge of academic technology transfer what they need to know to be hired into any technology transfer office (TTO) or related position in the US. This program offers a very competitive compensation package, mentorship by an experienced biotech entrepreneur, and many professional development opportunities.

4. Fulbright Postdoc Awards for Overseas Research, Deadline: Aug 1

The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers 15 postdoctoral awards, as well as nearly 300 awards to support research abroad. Duration of the awards and target disciplines vary.

ELIGIBILITY: Fulbright postdoctoral scholar awards are open to American citizens who have recently completed their doctoral degree – typically within the five previous years.

5. Alzheimer Drug Discovery Foundation, NYC, Multiple Positions

ADDF seeks a Scientific Program Officer who will report directly to the Director, Scientific Affairs and will be overseen by ADDF's Founding Executive Director and Chief Science Officer. Seek a motivated early-career scientist seeking to accelerate the translation of research into therapies for patients with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. As part of a venture philanthropy that funds academic and biotechnology programs, this role will be integral in supporting the management of ADDF's research portfolio and strategic partnerships with industry, investors, and other funding agencies. The Scientific Program Officer will proactively support applicants and ADDF-funded researchers by connecting them with resources to develop and support their programs from concept to commercialization.

This position requires a PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant biomedical discipline. The ideal candidate will have: Research experience in neuroscience, neurology, or a related field. General knowledge of drug discovery and development for CNS diseases desired. Translational or clinical research experience is a plus. Strong project and time management skills with the ability to manage competing requests. Excellent oral communications and writing skills with demonstrated ability to communicate to both scientific and lay audiences. ADDF seeks a Program Officer or Assistant Director, Aging & Alzheimer’s Prevention Program who will report directly to the Director of Aging & Alzheimer’s Prevention and will be overseen by ADDF’s Founding Executive Director and Chief Science Officer. Dementia prevention has been a major topic of research for decades but the vast majority of research designs cannot conclusively prove or disprove a given therapeutic approach. ADDF seeks a Biomarkers Scientific Program Officer, Scientific Affairs Program who will be a motivated early-career scientist seeking to accelerate the translation of research into therapies for patients with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. An important component of this mission is to develop biomarkers that can (1) accurately diagnose (2) properly stratify and enrich patient populations (3) demonstrate target engagement for novel therapies and (4) reliably monitor disease progression and response to treatment. As part of a venture philanthropy that funds academic and biotechnology programs, this position will help maintain the biomarkers research program. This includes management of a research portfolio, development of strategic partnerships, and support of applicants through connecting them with resources to progress their programs towards commercialization.

ADDF seeks a Consultant (Part-time), for the Aging & Alzheimer’s Prevention Program. The Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) works towards to advance potential therapies and prevent Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. We are partnering with a third party to develop a platform that aggregates data from patients to build predictive models of Alzheimer’s risk and potential response to drugs. Alzheimer’s disease develops over the course of decades, and many of the choices we make in mid-life affect our future risk of the disease. A growing number of biomarker and genetic studies are improving our ability to determine one’s risk of developing dementia. Additionally, Alzheimer’s disease is heterogenous, and certain patients may respond differently to certain medications or treatments. Therefore, there is a great need for longitudinal deep phenotyping of patients in the clinic.
