Congratulations Department of Political Science Class of 2020 and to the parents, partners, siblings, and friends who supported them. Thank you for joining us to honor our students and be a part of this special celebration.
The past couple of months have brought new challenges unlike many of us have ever known. I applaud each of you, our amazing Seawolves in your Stony Brook red. Our courageous and dedicated students who did not lose sight of the finish line, eager to complete this phase of your education and achieve your dreams. Our next wave of leaders.
Today, toss your virtual caps in the air. You’ve earned it. You made it! And it will be an experience you will never forget.

MA RECIPIENTS IN PUBLIC POLICY AND POLITICAL SCIENCE
Graduates of the MA in Public Policy program have gained the skills and experiences to achieve success working in government or in organizations affected by government – local, state, national and international.
Graduates of the MA in Poltical Science program were introduced to theories that help to make sense of public attitudes and behavior, familiarize them with core research on the dynamics of attitudes and opinions, and provide them with first-hand experience on major research methods.

PHD RECIPIENTS IN POLITICAL SCIENCE
Ph.D. graduates in Political Science had the opportunity to specialize in three areas: Political Psychology/Behavior; Political Economy and Public Policy; or American Politics. Their time in the program emphasized professional training of research-oriented practicioners and the production of professional-quality articles and conference papers in perparation for the rigors of a future career in academia.
