The official Seal of Stony Brook University/State University of New York is to be used only on specific documents as decided by the President or the Registrar. The Seal affirms the legitimacy of such documents. As such:

  • The Office of the Registrar will affix the Seal only to official transcripts, certificates, and other authorized documents.
  • The President or Vice President for Communications and Marketing (President’s designee) may authorize the use of the Seal upon other documents.
