Evan John Philip
Department of Physics & Astronomy
Evan Philip received a master's degree in Physics from National Institute of Science Education and Research, India in 2014 before joining the PhD program in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Stony Brook University. He is a theorist focusing on a unique way in which light and massless electron-like particles interact, via what is known as the chiral anomaly. Apart from its fundamental importance, chiral anomaly also has potential applications in fields like medical imaging, optoelectronics and quantum computing. Evan participated in PCLP during the 2018-19 session and the 2019 summer session. He often finds himself procrastinating when it comes to career planning, so he finds it extremely helpful to have some time regularly dedicated to it in the form of PCLP.
