Brandon Marshall

Brandon Marshall received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science from Austin Peay State University before joining the PhD program in the Department of Political Science. He is a political psychologist focusing on how people learn to identify with a political party and how that identity influences public opinion during election campaigns. His long-term hope is that a better understanding of the role of identity in politics can lead to ideas on how to decrease polarization in the United States. Brandon participated in PCLP during the Fall 2019 session. Brandon is currently on the job market and finds that program a useful way to connect with other people going through a similar time in their lives.
