Family Connect

If you have a question about a university policy or would like to know how your student can get involved on campus, use Family Connect!  Call or e-mail our office and you will be able to speak directly to a staff member.  We will provide you with a detailed answer to your question or connect you with the appropriate individual who will address your concern.

Family Calendar and Handbook

Year-Round Events

In addition to our annual Family Weekend program in the fall semester, we would like to connect you with the campus community throughout the year.  Please refer to the newsletter for relevant events.

There are also two great online newsletters at Stony Brook University.  The University Newsletter is called "Stony Brook Happenings" and you can sign up for the newsletter here then click on "subscribe".  Sign up for the Friends of Stony Brook University Newsletter, "Stony Brook Matters" here

Resources for College Parents and Family

There are a variety of non-university sources that assist parents and families in navigating the transition from high school to college, or from home to campus.  Stony Brook University is also a member of College Parents of America, an organization that provides parents and family members with information and resources on the college experience.
