I am excited to have re-joined the Office of Student Orientation and Family Programs in 2018! Geoff Bauer Geoff
Graduate Intern, Student Orientation
I’m excited to join the Stony Brook family for the summer of 2018 as a NODA intern! Born and raised in Buffalo, I graduated in 2007 with a B.S. in Business Administration from the University at Buffalo. Following a gap year, I returned to UB to pursue a Ph.D. in political science. Along the way, I found my true passion in higher education was not conducting research or teaching in a classroom, buy rather, interaction with students outside of the classroom setting. I withdrew from the Ph.D. program and enrolled at Ohio University for an M.Ed. in college student personnel, beginning Fall 2017. I currently work as a graduate assistant in the Allen Student Advising Center, where I assist students making the transition to college and finding an academic path right for them. I love working with students in transition, and am excited to be a part of the orientation team at SBU.
