Stony Brook Curriculum

All undergraduate students at Stony Brook must complete general education coursework that fulfills the learning objectives outlined in the Stony Brook Curriculum or "SBC" for short. The SBC ensures students will learn the skills necessary for life-long learning. Some of the SBC objectives will be fulfilled in a student's major, but others will allow students to explore new areas of study. Some students may even discover a major, minor, or new area of interest by taking courses that fulfill SBC objectives.

For a complete list of SBC objectives, visit the Undergraduate Bulletin.
