Indoor Sports Complex
The Indoor Sports Complex is open to the off-campus community when not being used for the university classes, sports teams, and scheduled events. Memberships (both individual and immediate family) are available to the off-campus community for an annual fee. Weekly Sports Complex schedules are provided at the front desk. Facilities available for the community members with paid memberships include and indoor upper running track, a general weight room, squash courts (reservation required), and basketball courts. Community members who do not have a Sports Complex membership may pay $5 per visit at the main entrance of the Sports Complex. Applications are available at the main office of the Sports Complex between 9:00am and 4:30pm.

Life Science Greenhouse
This 14,000-square-foot facility houses plants that are used as a resource in teaching and research. The greenhouse staff welcomes the community for tours, horticultural talks, and all gardening inquiries.

The Charles B. Wang Center serves a wide range of audiences by sharing every corner of Asian culture. Thanks to our diverse cultural programs including exhibits, performances, workshops, lectures, films, and festivals, visitors do not need a passport to travel to Asia.

Student Activities Center (SAC)
Located in the heart of the academic mall, the SAC features an acoustically superior auditorium that seats 550 people and also has nine meeting rooms that can accommodate between 20 to 84 people. Also available: multipurpose rooms for dances, receptions, award ceremonies, presentations, small concerts, and conferences. Catering is available.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI)
The institute is open to all retired and semi-retired individuals who are interested in expanding their intellectual horizons in a university setting. Avenues for participation include: workshops, lectures, business meetings, committees, offices and social activities. The mostly peer-taught workshops, which carry no credits or prerequisites, are designed to offer an informal exchange of ideas between all participants within a framework of accomplishing the workshop objectives.

Senior Auditing Program
Adults 60 years of age and older may audit most New York State-funded, credit-bearing courses at Stony Brook for a nominal fee.

The Alumni Association has partnered with Liberty Mutual to offer a defensive driving course for Stony Brook University Alumni, family & friends for $22 a person. The courses are offered at various times throughout the semester.

Driver Rehabilitation Program
Consists of 16 hours of classroom education during a seven-week period and screening of participants for indications of possible drug or alcohol abuse. Some participants are required to obtain an evaluation and possible treatment for drug/alcohol abuse.

Campus Recreation Center
The new Campus Recreation Center features a three-court gymnasium for basketball, volleyball, and badminton; three group fitness studios; a 17,000 square-foot weight/fitness room; Campus Recreation Office; 1/10th-mile track, Multi-Activity Court; locker rooms, equipment rental, two lounges, and wireless internet. The Center also has personal training, blood pressure and body fat testing, available for members.

The Center provides psychological services to adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families. Modalities include individual, martial, family, and group therapies. The center also has ongoing psychoeducational testing program for the assessment of mental retardation, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, and other forms of psychopathology. Individual intelligence and personality tests are administered upon request. The Psychological Center gives Stony Brook graduate students in clinical psychology the opportunity to gain clinical experience under the close supervision of the University’s clinical faculty. The Center is also a research facility where studies are conducted to identify causes and effective treatments for a variety of emotional and behavioral disorders.
