Host: Campus Camps
Website: www.campus-camps.comCampus Camps will be running in Oakdale for the summer of 2021. Our camp will be open to children ages 3-15. The regular camp day runs from 9 am-4 pm. Extended Care is also available from 7 am-6 pm. Our day camp price is $300.00 per week. Choose your days as well as your weeks; there is no minimum. We offer a customized schedule with different themed days, special events, and travel options throughout the summer.
We are waiting for DOH guidance on transportation from SBU, so that might not be available this summer. If it is, there would be an additional charge.

kidOYO will be having an "Unlimited Summer of Learning," running virtual coding sessions this summer. Students who have a kidOYO Passport will have access to these events, as well as online programming/web development tools and content. Coming from a local public-benefit technology producer, the Passport is $50 per student; much cheaper than camps charging $1000 or more.Students will learn 3D design and printing, Web development, Python, Java, Javascript, green screen filming/editing, Scratch, and many more industry-leading programs.

In a three-day workshop, Stony Brook Medicine shows kids how to harvest and cook their own food, using produce from the Stony Brook Heights Rooftop Farm on the roof of the Health Sciences Tower. Staff from the Department of Family, Population and Preventive Medicine’s Nutrition Division show them how to take their harvest and turn it into vegetable stuffed pita pockets, herbed omelettes, salads, muffins, smoothies and more.
For 9 to 11 year olds: tentative dates are July 27-29, 2021, 10 am – 2 pm
For 6 to 8 year olds: tentative dates are Aug 3-5 , 2021, 10 am – 2 pm

The Institute for Advanced Computational Science (IACS) at Stony Brook University is offering a 10-day virtual programming workshop for rising juniors or seniors. This hands-on camp introduces students to the Python language and emphasizes algorithmic thinking and problem solving. No assumed prior knowledge of programming is necessary. By the end of the camp, students will have sufficient programming skills and awareness of the field to pursue further independent study and to inform future choices for education and careers.
Dates: July 19th -July 30th, 2021
The fee for the workshop is $575. (Scholarships are available)

Students will learn how languages are different and how they are the same, how computers recognize speech, and how computers translate between languages. Students will compute, create their own language and program formal grammars. They will also understand how Siri and Alexa work.

In this week-long adventure, middle school students will be immersed in state of the art technology, and will learn how to brainstorm innovative designs, and transform them into products. Students will use autocad design software to make their ideas become reality, be given their own invention kit allowing them to use everyday items to control and manipulate technology, and will learn the importance of media and marketing. S tudents will have a lot of fun gaining the experience through hands on projects.

Earn 3 College Credits: Students will examine the World Ocean and the chemical, geological, and physical processes that control its major features and the life that inhabits it, as well as explore human interactions with the marine environment. This intensive course is specifically designed for motivated high school students wishing to earn college credit, but current undergraduates, graduates, or professionals can also enroll. The short-term course will run for 2 weeks and meet for 4-5 hours each weekday at the Stony Brook Southampton campus. Content will be delivered via lectures, in- class activities, and 2 boat trips in which students will explore nearby coastal habitats using oceanographic sampling equipment. Students must have completed high school biology and be at least 16 years old.

Under the guidance of professional journalists, students will work remotely from home to report on important stories and create content for the web.
This summer workshop is designed for current Long Island and NYC high school sophomores and juniors considering careers in journalism. The workshop introduces students to basic skills in news reporting, writing and editing and the use of video and still photography. Classes are taught by professional journalists.The program will run in July 18th - July 24th, 2021

SUMMER MUSIC CAMPS | STALLER CENTER FOR THE ARTSOur week-long day camps focus on developing ensemble skills (chamber, jazz, and choir) which help young performers build confidence and acquire critical musicianship skills that can make them better musicians. YAWP's Summer Workshops in Creative Writing and Scriptwriting:
The Young Artists and Writers Project, created by Stony Brook Southampton's MFA in Writing and Literature program, is offering week-long online writing workshops for teens, ages 13-18. The workshops pair seasoned adult writers with students for workshops in fiction, personal narrative, poetry, playwriting and screenwriting.
All summer workshops will be held online using the video chat app ZOOM. 5-day Workshops for teens will be offered in both July and August.

Camp Kesem is a national, nonprofit organization that supports children through and beyond their parent's cancer by offering free summer camps with innovative, fun-filled programs that foster a lasting community. The camp is run by driven, passionate student leaders at Stony Brook University. This year the camp will be conducted entirely virtual on the platform zoom.
