Rebecca Lentjes

Rebecca Lentjes researches sound studies and gender studies as an ethnomusicology PhD student and Graduate Council Fellowship recipient. Her research primarily concerns itself with what she terms “sonic patriarchy” at anti-abortion protests. Rebecca received her BA in music and Romance languages from NYU in 2012 and since then has worked as an assistant editor for RILM Abstracts of Music Literature. Her academic and journalistic writing has appeared in TEMPO , The Journal of Interdisciplinary Voice Studies , Sounding Out! , Music & Literature , and I Care If You Listen , and she writes program notes for Lincoln Center and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.  A queer disabled feminist activist, Rebecca can be found clinic escorting & volunteering for an abortion fund outside her musicological endeavors.
