Anna Parkitna
Anna Parkitna is a recent PhD graduate in Music History and Theory. Her dissertation
“Opera in Warsaw, 1765–1830: Operatic Migration, Adaptation, and Reception in the
Enlightenment” explores cosmopolitan and particularistic tendencies in Warsaw’s operatic
culture within a context of European circulation of repertories and performers. Anna’s
research has been supported by stipends from the German Historical Institute Warsaw,
the Gotha Research Center of the University of Erfurt, the Herder Institute for Historical
Research on East-Central Europe in Marburg, as well as by a travel grant (the William
Holmes/Frank D’Accone Endowment) from the American Musicological Society.
