Summer Youth Ensemble Camp
This week-long day camp will focuses on developing important chamber music skills which help young performers build confidence and acquire critical musicianship skills that can make them better ensemble players and soloists. Each day of the camp, participants will receive coachings and take part in daily seminars/demonstrations led by professional musicians and music coaches. The camp will culminate with each group performing on the final concert that will be open to the public.
Important note: This is a day camp. There are no overnight accommodations available.
DATES AND TIMES
August 10-15, 2020
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Final concert at 1:00 p.m., Saturday at the Staller Center for the Arts
Extend your day with lunch activities and ArtVentures in the afternoon.
ELIGIBILITY
- Students entering grades 5-7 in September 2020.
- Each participant selected must agree to be available for all sessions. Absences will not be allowed since chamber and jazz requires the consistent participation of all members.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
- Two contrasting solo pieces (we recommend a NYSSMA level of 2 or higher).
If you are auditioning for the 2019-20 Young Artist Program, you will not need a separate audition for the summer camp. Current YAP students do not have to audition for the summer camp.

TUITION
$325 per person
Includes daily rehearsals, masterclasses and final performance. There are no additional fees or expenses.
DEADLINE
Applications received after June 8 will be considered on a first come, first served basis.
