Summer Jazz Camp
This week-long day camp will focuses on developing important jazz skills which help young performers build confidence and acquire critical musicianship skills that can make them better ensemble players and soloists. Each day of the camp, participants will receive coachings on jazz improvisation, group listening, jazz theory, and take part in daily seminars/demonstrations led by guest musicians and music coaches. The camp will culminate with each group performing on the final concert that will be open to the public.
Open to students of all levels of jazz music experience.
Important note: This is a day camp. There are no overnight accommodations available.
July 27 - August 1, 2020

- Students entering grades 8-12 or recently graduated.
Each participant selected must agree to be available for all sessions. Absences will not be allowed since chamber and jazz requires the consistent participation of all members.
- One solo jazz piece and demonstration of improvisation
If you are auditioning for the 2020-21 Young Artist Jazz Program, you will not need a separate audition for the summer camp. Current YAP students do not have to audition for the summer camp.
$325 per person
Includes daily rehearsals, masterclasses and final performance. There are no additional fees or expenses.
Applications received after June 8 will be considered on a first come, first served basis.
