The all-new Percussion Ensemble at Stony Brook University gives students the chance to work in a conservatory environment with a full array of professional-level instruments. Directed by Dr. Thomas Marceau. Students should be entering 6th grade in Fall 2018 and perform at an intermediate to advanced level. Classes meet Saturday mornings during the school year.
Once applications are received you will be contacted to submit an audition video. You will be asked to perform a recent solo piece, such as a NYSSMA solo, which accurately shows your current level of performance.
The percussion ensemble meets most Saturdays mornings during the academic year from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM. There will be one concert in December and one concert in May at the Staller Center.
Free tickets to Music Department and Staller Center events
Throughout the year students and their families have access to exclusive concerts and events held at the Staller Center. This past year families were able to experience the Emerson String Quartet, Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra, Stony Brook Opera and Faculty Recitals at no cost.
