The College of Engineering and Applied Sciences presents: MACH 1 Engineering Hub. A department dedicated to servicing 1st class innovation to our students, staff, faculty and beyond.
Within the MACH 1 Engineering Hub, we have multiple facilities:
- The Space
- The Heavy Space
- The Main Shop
- The Fabrication Shop
- The Student Shop
The Space - A hands-on innovative space for CEAS students. Contains 3D Printers, hand tools and basic electronics
The Heavy Space- A heavier equipment addition to "The Space", contains a Tormach 440 CNC, Large Scale 3D Printers and Laser Cutters. This room is used as a service only.
The Main Shop - Manufacturing facility that has CNC, Manual Milling Machine, Engine Lathes, and even a desktop Waterjet.
The Fabrication Shop- An addition to The Main Shop, primarily sheet metal equipment such as Foot Sheet, Bending Brake, Hole Punching,etc. There are also stations for Welding and a CNC Plasma Cutting table.
The Student Shop - Where MEC 225: Fundamentals of Machining Practices is held and where students who pass MEC 225 can manufacture their parts for projects such as their Senior Design Project.
