Spring 2017 Undergraduate Scholarship for Korean Language Teacher Education

Congratulations to our Fall 2016 Scholarship winners, Sora Kim and Heedong Lee!

Two students in the Teacher Certification Education for Korean Language Program, Sora Kim and Heedong Lee, were selected as scholarship awardees this year. In the award ceremony held October 13 at Double Tree Hotel in Fort Lee, the two students were awarded $5,000 each by the Korean Language Foundation, a Korean American community organization promoting Korean language learning in New York and New Jersey.


Thanks to generous support from the Korean Language Association, a leading non-profit organization for promoting Korean language and cultural education in the USA, the Center for Korean Studies is pleased to announce two undergraduate scholarships.

This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students in the Korean Teacher Education program in Asian and Asian American Studies who are committed to pursing a career in Korean Language Teaching with demonstrated academic excellence and leadership. Each selected student will receive a $5,000 cash award. The deadline for the Spring 2017 Competition is Monday, May 15.
Applicants must submit
1) a completed application form (Downloadable here)
2) a resume
3) an unofficial undergraduate transcript
4) a personal statement that addresses his/her qualifications for the scholarship
