Minhwa Workshops

Minhwa, which literally means "paintings of the people," refers to traditional Korean folk paintings usuaslly created anonymously among commoners. Minhwa works show how commoners of traditional Korea lived and what they valued. The Minhwa paintings are still surviving, and being applied to contemporary artworks.

The Center for Korean Studies has presented Free Online Minhwa Workshops with artist Ms. Stephanie S. Lee during the Spring 2021 semester for five times. You can see our students' Minhwa artworks here!
