Journalism without Walls
Experience the life of a foreign correspondent through the School of Journalism’s study abroad program
During winter or summer break, you will join a group of students and two School of Journalism faculty members to travel to a newsworthy corner of the globe. There, you will uncover stories, interview sources, and report on what you see and experience in print, on video, and in photographs.
Before you leave on the reporting adventure of a lifetime, you will take a 1-credit on-campus course where you and your fellow travelers learn about the trip destination, its history and culture, and begin the groundwork of uncovering stories and finding sources.
To participate in Journalism without Walls, you must be in good academic standing with a GPA of at least 2.0. There is no language requirement for the program.
Journalism faculty and staff accompany and supervise students on the trip.
Students interested in experiencing Journalism without Walls are encouraged to apply for scholarships to support their trip.
