About the Program at Stony Brook

The JFEW-SUNY Global Affairs Program, funded by the Jewish Foundation for Education of Women, is a two-year academic and scholarship program that empowers SUNY undergraduate women to become global leaders and prepare for careers as practitioners in the field of international relations and global affairs. Since the Program’s inception in 2011, the Jewish Foundation for Education of Women has funded over $4,000,000 in scholarships and program support to three SUNY campuses: Stony Brook, Binghamton, and Geneseo.

The Program provides academic and applied learning experiences through monthly academic seminars and a paid summer internship at a NYC based globally focused organization between the junior and senior years. In addition, the Program Scholars receive career support, networking, and mentoring. Each campus has 20 Scholars in the program each year.  Students from all backgrounds who match the criteria are encouraged to apply.

About JFEW

The Jewish Foundation for Education of Women is a private, nonsectarian foundation that enables women with financial need to meet their educational and career goals through scholarships and supportive services. We invest in women who aspire to achieve through learning and initiative and who value giving back to their communities.

The Foundation works with nonprofit and school-based partners to create programs for cohorts of JFEW Scholars. Programs are designed to help Scholars complete their degrees, reduce their financial burdens, and provide tools for economic advancement.
